Burr and Burton Virtual Groundbreaking – June 5, 2020! DEW joined Burr and Burton, the Rowland family, and KaTo architects for a virtual groundbreaking of Founders Hall, a three-story academy building, library, and common space. Two years in the making, the Rowland Project, slated for completion in June 2021, was made possible through a $20 million donation made to the school from the late Barry and Wendy Rowland. DEW is excited to take part in this remarkable project.

Ribbon Cutting in Windham, NH
Congratulations Windham School District, SAU #95. DEW was honored to join the District and the community of Windham on September 10, 2019 at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the grand opening of the new Golden Brook School and the renovation work at Windham Middle School. Together, the Windham School District, Banwell Architects, DEW, and countless others partnered to bring this innovative design to reality. Thank you to the ENTIRE project team that supported this incredible effort.

Historic Francestown Town Hall Renovation Underway
The MacMillin Company is happy to announce that the restoration of the historic Francestown Town Hall has begun. The Town Hall will be undergoing a full rehabilitation including new windows, flooring, roofing, windows and mechanical, electrical and fire suppression systems. All work will be completed in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. The Town Hall and Academy building was built in 1847 and constructed to accommodate two usages; the first floor hosted special town meetings and other community events, while the second floor housed a private Academy. As many as 100 students were listed as attending the private school. Prominent figures from history, including 14th President Franklin Pierce and Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court Levi Woodbury, are both said to have attended the academy. The Francestown Heritage Commission helped to coordinate fundraising for the $1 million project which included private donations, town funds, and a grant from the New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program.
