DEW Construction is serving as the General Contractor for the new North Hero Fire Station and Public Works Facility, a critical municipal investment designed to strengthen emergency response and essential services for the Lake Champlain island community.
The project replaces the town’s existing shared facility, which has served North Hero for more than 50 years and no longer meets current operational or safety needs.
The new campus includes construction of a 7,000-square-foot fire station and a 3,000-square-foot public works building, providing modern, purpose-built spaces to support fire, rescue, and public works operations. Designed with year‑round readiness in mind, the facility enhances response capability for both residents and visitors across Vermont’s island communities.
In addition to vertical construction, the project includes comprehensive site redevelopment to support long-term functionality and resilience. This upgraded infrastructure ensures the facility can effectively serve the community while improving operational efficiency, safety, and reliability for critical municipal services.
