DEW is proud to recognize six team members who recently completed the Associated Builders and Contractors of New Hampshire/Vermont (ABC NH/VT) Future Leaders in Construction (FLiC) program—an experience designed to strengthen the next generation of leaders in the industry. Graduates from DEW’s Vermont and New Hampshire teams were recognized during separate ABC NH/VT ceremonies, marking the completion of a program that challenges participants to grow as leaders while building meaningful connections across the construction community. The 2026 DEW graduates include: Cole Russell, Project Engineer Dominic Liscinsky, Carpenter Trisha Moore, Vice President of Human Resources Mitch Laferriere, Financial Controller Josh Carrien, Foreman Wynter Edwards, Marketing Director Throughout the eight-month program, participants committed time outside of their day-to-day responsibilities to strengthen their leadership approach, expand their perspective, and collaborate with peers from across the construction industry. Bringing together professionals from the field to the office, the program emphasizes self-awareness, communication, and leadership style—helping participants better understand how they contribute to their teams and organizations. Each participant also completes a real-world return-on-investment (ROI) project, applying what they’ve learned directly to their work. At DEW, that kind of growth matters. Investing in our people—and supporting leadership development at every level—is central to who we are. Programs like FLiC complement our ongoing commitment to mentorship, professional development, and creating meaningful career paths within the company. Since its launch in 2007, the ABC NH/VT FLiC program […]

Growing Talent at DEW: Internship Experiences in Action
DEW Construction’s internship program continues to play an important role in how we develop talent and support long-term growth across our teams. By providing hands-on experience in the field and exposure to day-to-day project operations, the program creates meaningful opportunities for students to learn, contribute, and explore careers in construction. Two recent examples highlight the impact of this approach—Rosey Thompson’s transition into a full-time role and Joseph Musumarra’s return for a second summer with DEW. Last summer, Rosey joined DEW as an intern while completing her degree in Psychology with a minor in Plant Biology at the University of Vermont. During her time with the team, she gained hands-on field experience on our Bay Ridge Apartments project in Shelburne, Vermont, and developed a strong understanding of how DEW projects are delivered. Following her graduation, Rosey has joined DEW full-time as a Project Engineer based out of our Williston, Vermont office. Her transition reflects the kind of growth and opportunity our internship program is designed to support. We’re also pleased to welcome back Joseph Musumarra for another summer with DEW. A Construction Management student at Vermont State University – Randolph, Joseph is supporting our MAREK North project in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where he continues to build on his field experience and gain exposure to project coordination and daily operations. We’re proud to congratulate Rosey on her graduation and new role, and […]
DEW Project Engineer, Josh Deutsch Earns “Best in Show” at AIAVT Furniture Design Competition
DEW Construction is proud to share that Josh Deutsch, Project Engineer, was awarded Best in Show at the 2026 AIA Vermont Furniture Design Competition, “Flip the Switch,” held this past weekend at the Montgomery Center for the Arts. This year’s competition challenged designers to create a free-standing illuminating device using predominantly reclaimed, reused, or recycled materials. Entries were juried on Creativity, Innovation, Aesthetics, and Functionality, bringing together Vermont’s architecture and design community in a celebration of craftsmanship and sustainability. The exhibit is open weekends through June 28. A Design Rooted in Reuse and Local Context Josh’s winning piece stood out for its thoughtful storytelling, craftsmanship, and strong connection to place. His pier-inspired lamp reimagines salvaged construction materials through the lens of Burlington’s working waterfront: Constructed from reclaimed timber posts and bound with marine rope, the piece draws directly from materials collected during a recent hotel renovation in Burlington, Vermont. Echoing the weathered character of dock pilings, the design integrates a soft internal illumination that brings warmth and new life to elements once destined for disposal. The exposed bulb, framed within stacked wooden forms, highlights both the raw textures and the story of reuse—transforming construction remnants into a functional, sculptural object that bridges industrial history with contemporary design. Celebrating a Major Milestone in Craftsmanship and Growth
We’re proud to recognize Andrew Ricard on graduating from the ApprenticeshipNH Carpentry Program through the Community College System of New Hampshire and Associated Builders and Contractors of New Hampshire/Vermont. In recognition of his strong performance and continued growth in the field, Andrew was promoted from Carpenter Apprentice to Carpenter this past January—an achievement earned ahead of his official graduation and a reflection of both his skill and leadership on the job. This rigorous, multi-year apprenticeship combines more than 6,000 hours of on-the-job training with comprehensive classroom instruction, equipping participants with the technical expertise and real-world experience essential to the carpentry trade. Throughout his time in the program, Andrew demonstrated exceptional dedication—balancing his full-time role at DEW with evening coursework while committing additional hours, including nights and weekends, to meet the demands of the curriculum. Now applying those skills in the field, Andrew is currently working with the team on the new Rochester Circuit Court in Rochester, New Hampshire—a 32,452-square-foot facility—where he continues to contribute to project success while further developing his craft. Andrew was recently honored at a graduation ceremony held at Manchester Community College alongside fellow Spring 2026 graduates. Supported by ApprenticeshipNH and the college’s Workforce Development Center, the program plays a critical role in developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals across our region. Through his experience, Andrew has strengthened his technical expertise across core carpentry disciplines, […]
