Montpelier, VT – DEW Construction was honored with an award for its Resource Protection Program at the State House on April 20, 2009. DEW, along with several other Vermont companies, was recognized by the Governor for their environmental leadership. “Today’s recipients represent a cross-section of Vermont’s commitment to responsible stewardship of our natural resources,” said Governor Douglas. “Vermont’s rural economy is dependent on a healthy working landscape. The companies and organizations represented today are leaders in what I call the Vermont Way – where our economic and environmental heritage are inextricably intertwined.” Some of the award winners were making return trips, while others, like DEW, joined the ranks for the first time. “All winners showed the type of initiative and innovation that drives Vermont’s unparalleled reputation as an environmental leader,” the Governor said. DEW received their award for Environmental Excellence in Resource Conservation for their “Resource Protection Program” which incorporates recycling and salvage into its construction operations. Members of DEW’s SHARP Committee (Safety, Health & Resource Protection Committee) along with several other DEW representatives were present at the ceremony.

The Vermont Department of Labor’s Project WorkSAFE Program is pleased to announce that DEW Construction of Williston, Vermont has met and successfully completed the requirements of the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) for the Jay Peak Ski Area Hotel Expansion Project. DEW Construction and Project WorkSAFE, Vermont’s Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Program, began working on the certification process more than four months ago. “We applaud the employees and management of DEW in this accomplishment.” said Scott Meyer, Manager of Project WorkSAFE. “To be conducting this type of work while maintaining a safe workplace speaks very well to the caliber and commitment of staff at DEW and all its sub contractors’ on this site. They have a lot to be proud of and we hope that other Vermont employers will follow in their lead.” Employees of DEW and their sub-contractors on this project were the main focal point of the recognition which was attended by Governor James Douglas, Director of Workers Compensation & Safety Division J. Stephen Monahan, Manager of Project WorkSafe Scott Meyer, representatives from DEW Construction, the Jay Peak Ski Area, and Parker Riehle President of the Vermont Ski Area Association. BURLINGTON, VT – DEW Construction Corp. was honored by Key Bank and Vermont Business Magazine as one of Vermont’s fastest growing companies for the 4th time, at an awards ceremony held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center. Governor James Douglas, John Boutin of VBM and Scott Carpenter of Key Bank presented the awards, which was accepted by DEW CFO, Michael Francis. The annual 5x5x5 Awards recognize the five fastest growing Vermont-based businesses over the last five years in five industrial sectors: construction, food, technology, service/retail, and manufacturing. The data is gathered from Vermont Business Magazine’s Vermont 100 list of companies ranked by sales, which runs in its January issue. VBM has run such a list since 1987. The awards ceremony, moderated by Scott Carpenter, President of Key Bank, featured a reception with all of the honorees, a presentation by 5 leading companies, and a guest speaker, Doug Hall, Founder and CEO of the Eureka! Ranch.
