From the beginning, I was impressed by the professionalism, organization, and planning of DEW and their ability to manage subcontractors. Everything ran smoothly as planned and the project was completed on time even though our summer construction window was tight.

As we approach our last job meeting, I’d like to comment on our entire process with DEW. Prior to starting this construction process I heard several horror stories about the principal’s experiences during a construction process. Ours with DEW has been the complete opposite. I have found the entire experience, from July 2007 until now, very rewarding. It was one of those experiences that come out even better than you’d ever imagine. Better yet, it was done on time and on budget! I would enthusiastically recommend DEW to any school system consolidating or doing new construction.

The level of professionalism exhibited by all of the DEW staff impresses me.  I was concerned about the safety of my students and staff as well as minimizing disruption as much as possible.  Every single DEW staff member was consistently receptive and responsive to my concerns.  They listened and responded when I expressed concerns and they were patient when I asked questions about the work that was being completed.  I learned a lot!  The scope of the work in a relatively short period of time made me skeptical that we would be ready for the first day of school. While it was very, very close, the DEW crew and the sub-contractors pushed to make sure my students had  a safe and aesthetically pleasing school to enter on their first day of school.

WSESU was fortunate to be partnered with MacMillin for our Middle School, High School, and Career and Technical Center. This fifty-five million dollar project signified the largest bond vote in the State of Vermont’s history, and we needed a construction manager who could assist us in meeting the expectations of our individual user groups at an operational level, and our citizen groups at a local and state level. MacMillin met our expectations by listening to our needs, working closely with administrative staff to provide budgeting and phasing for each of our individual schools.

MacMillin was sensitive to the needs of the owner, and maintained the integrity of the original former barn structure amidst major renovations and high performance upgrades.
