I am writing to express The Putney School’s gratitude and appreciation with respect to DEW’s work on the Michael S. Currier Center. This important project would not have been possible without the commitment and hard work displayed by DEW and its employees. From bidding to certificate of occupancy, DEW and its subcontractors were responsive to suggestions and sensitive to the fact that the work site was on the grounds of a school.

We, through the leadership of DEW, have established a team approach to this project that has worked well with all sub-contractors, architects, engineers, state representatives and the clerk of the works. We have worked through issues professionally and courteously, and this level of trust and respect has made for a better end product. …I am constantly made aware of the high quality of workmanship that has evolved through this process. DEW has consistently gone over and above to demand high quality workmanship on all aspects of this job. I am grateful for this level of perfection and find this project to be a clear result of the extra effort.

As the owner’s representative, I have worked with DEW in construction meetings, in change orders, in debates, in budget meetings and in emergency situations; and it is important to understand that in a large school with over 1000 teenage students and 200 staff many situations happen. I would say in all aspects of this project, DEW has been nothing but exceptionally helpful, professional and timely. As part of this project, we were constructing and renovating while running a full time career/technical center in the same building. Needless to say, sometimes there were disruptions; but DEW ensured a safe and productive site.

On all levels, your staff displayed excellence in communication, organization, timeliness and quality workmanship in the construction of the Living and Learning Centers. If problems arose, they were able to generate viable solutions and offer alternatives. Your team set a standard of excellence of workmanship that was expected from all workers and subs that were engaged in the project.

Over the years The Putney School has engaged the services of DEW for all three of the school’s major construction projects. Given that the field house is scheduled to be a “net zero” consumer of energy as well as LEED Platinum certified we knew that the design and construction of the building would require an extraordinary degree of collaboration and effort on the part of the builder. From the school’s perspective we could not have been happier with the personnel, attention to detail, schedule and budget we have experience during this latest project. We would be more than happy to recommend DEW to potential customers.
