Founders Hall is a new three-story academic building with classrooms, a library, maker space, and a common area that supports the independent high school's integrated and project-based learning mission.
The design is intended to facilitate cross-disciplinary and collaborative learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). The timber frame grand central staircase is a prominent architectural component of the atrium/library which leads up to a view of Mt. Equinox. On the top level is a flexible meeting space referred to as the “Bell Tower Room” as it looks out at the Seminary Building’s bell tower. A courtyard connects the new hall to the Seminary Building.
The Rowland Project (the construction of Founders Hall) was made possible through a $20 million donation made to the school from the late Barry and Wendy Rowland. We are confident that this stunning addition to the campus will serve the Academy and the community for years to come.
