DEW wrapped up a frigid last day of January with a real-world educational opportunity on-site at our Williston Public Safety Facility (WPS), in Vermont, with a group of students from Colchester High School interested in a career in the trades industry.
DEW employees took the time to discuss the various career paths available in our trades and how they got to where they are now in their professions. We reviewed the drawings for the WPS facility, looked at the renderings, and then toured the site to see how the project is coming to life. Students also heard from the Vermont State Police, Staff Operations Commander, Captain Michael Manley, and the Clerk of the Works, Andy Metayer.
DEW cares deeply about the development of our current and future workforce pipeline. We always enjoy opportunities like this where we can give those interested in the trades a real-life, hands-on educational experience.
A big shout out to the Colchester High School students for their enthusiasm and respect and for enduring the cold weather with us that day! We hope you all had as much fun as we did with this real-world experience!
