Project Update – Dartmouth College Library Storage & Records Management Facility
The new Dartmouth College Library Storage and Records Management Facility is progressing beautifully! The time-lapse video below shows the massive amount of work that has been put into place since the project started in June 2022. Within the main storage area, the structural slab has been poured, framing has been completed starting at four feet up, and the hard duct has been installed. The electrical fixtures are currently getting installed, and insulation will begin shortly. Painting of the exposed structural steel (joist and decking) is complete within the processing, loading dock, and office areas, as well as framing and in-wall rough-in for MEP. The above ceiling ductwork and fire protection installation are occurring, and the insulation and drywall will be installed this week, with taping and sanding the following week. This 20,000 sf building will be completed in the summer of 2023 and will provide book storage for Dartmouth Libraries and house the Records Management Office. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zn6Do0X7pA
DEW Employees Take the Plunge in Support of the Special Olympics New Hampshire
Superintendent Steve Hart and President Taylor Woodward joined the Frozen Sections team on Sunday, February 12th, taking the Penguin Plunge straight into the frigid 41-degree Atlantic Ocean in support of the Special Olympics New Hampshire. For several years, DEW has been a proud supporter of the Special Olympics and Special Olympian Becky May, an athlete with over four decades of experience in various disciplines. Last year, Becky was chosen to represent the Granite State and play on the first-ever all-women 3v3 basketball team for the 2022 USA Games. Becky and her team took home the bronze medal! This year 558 volunteers helped raise more than $680,000 for the New Hampshire Special Olympics! The Frozen Sections were among one of the top teams statewide, having raised $31,600. Becky May took her 16th plunge Sunday and was a top fundraiser again this year, bringing in over $11,000! DEW is pleased to continue our support of the Special Olympics in its mission. Congratulations, Becky, and to all who participated in this year’s Penguin Plunge!
