DEW is pleased to announce the promotion of Dan Riley to Vice President of Operations, Chris Bertrand to Vice President of Field Operations, Ben Laflam to Superintendent, Josh Deutsch to Project Engineer, and Chantel Crawford to Marketing Specialist.
Dan Riley has been promoted to Vice President of Operations from General Superintendent. Since joining DEW as a superintendent in 2012, Dan’s work ethic, leadership skills, and commitment to our mission have been exemplary.
Dan will be directly responsible for leading our project management teams and providing “best in class” services to our customers throughout the construction process. With nearly 40 years of industry experience, Dan will ensure that all aspects of every project are delivered to specifications. He primarily oversees the integration of preconstruction and construction services, ensuring all projects are completed on time, on budget, and of the highest quality. Dan will also support our Vice President of Field Operations and our Safety Program.
Chris Bertrand has been promoted to Vice President of Field Operations from General Superintendent. Chris began his career with DEW as a Field Engineer nearly 16 years ago. He has since been promoted several times due to his leadership abilities, knowledge and passion for our industry, and his unwavering commitment to quality, accountability, and safety.
With over 30 years of industry experience, Chris will oversee our Field Operations teams and Safety Program in his new role. He will work closely with our Vice President of Operations to ensure that our field crews are always supported appropriately.
Ben Laflam was hired as an Assistant Superintendent in 2022, and since then, he has proven to be a vital component of the DEW team and has gained a deep understanding of DEW’s processes and values. With this promotion, Ben will oversee all field activities, including quality control, safety, field office administration, and look-ahead schedules.
Ben has over fourteen years of industry experience and a degree in construction management from Vermont Technical College. Before joining DEW, he spent over a decade supervising projects for a design-build company specializing in custom homes, expansions, and renovations. Additionally, Ben is a longtime member of the Vergennes Fire Department.
Josh Deutsch has been promoted to Project Engineer. Josh began his career with DEW about three years ago as a Carpenter Apprentice and has been an essential member of our team ever since. Josh has a tremendous willingness to learn, and he is meticulous in all elements of the job. He is continuously looking for ways to improve the efficiency of both our self-performed work and other essential tasks. He is highly interested in the use of technology on the job site and will play a significant role in that on the Cambrian Rise project to which he has recently been assigned. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Josh.
Chantel Crawford has been promoted to the position of Marketing Specialist. Seven years ago, Chantel was hired as Project Administrator. Due to her diligence and perseverance, she has since received three promotions. In her most recent role as Accounts Payable Supervisor, she has transformed our AP Department. Chantel has incredible time management skills and is meticulous, detail-oriented, and passionate about our people and our mission at DEW.
In Chantel’s new role, she will collaborate with our Marketing Director to strategize and implement comprehensive marketing approaches. Her responsibilities will include producing thorough, tailored proposal responses and supporting materials for client meetings and interviews and maintaining our CRM Database. The Marketing and Business Development departments are very excited to have Chantel join their team!
