The Jordan Hotel, nestled in the picturesque mountain region of Sunday River, Maine, has undergone significant renovations to rejuvenate its common areas and elevate the guest experience.
This comprehensive project included the renovation of the reception area, back-of-house admin area, main lobby, public bathrooms, and first-floor corridors. Additionally, three elevator cabs were refurbished, a new commercial market space was created, and the stairs and balconies were renovated.
The renovation boasts high-quality interior finishes such as wood-suspended ceilings, large-format corridor ceiling tiles, natural birch bark panels at the landing levels, and designer decorative light fixtures. These elements contribute to a modern and inviting atmosphere, enhancing the building’s aesthetic appeal and functionality.
Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, the design concept incorporates elements that reflect the region’s unique features. The multi-tonal carpet mimics the flow of a river through the corridors, guiding guests towards the lobby, which evokes the feeling of a forest floor. Art installations showcasing outdoor equipment and regional artifacts add a distinctive touch to the space. Custom millwork and handcrafted furnishings complement the hotel’s architectural style, creating a cohesive and inviting environment. This renovation project has transformed the Jordan Hotel’s common areas into a modern, aesthetically pleasing, and functional space that reflects the unique beauty of the surrounding region.
