We are thrilled to announce that DEW Construction has been honored with an Associated Builders and Contractors New Hampshire/Vermont 2024 Excellence in Construction Award for our outstanding work on the Army Mountain Warfare School project in Jericho, Vermont! This state-of-the-art facility spans an impressive 82,000 gross square feet and is constructed with a durable steel frame. It boasts a wide range of amenities, including classrooms, offices, conference rooms, a three-story climbing wall, a 5,000-square-foot drill hall, an Olympic IFSC-certified 15m speed wall, a dining area with an industrial kitchen, comfortable lounge areas, and billets for 174 personnel. The training facility is specifically designed to equip soldiers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively operate in mountainous and cold weather conditions. The school offers a variety of courses, including basic, advanced, and specialty mountain warfare training, as well as mission-specific training for both United States and foreign military forces. With its stunning design, sustainable features, and advanced amenities, the new facility is a true testament to what can be accomplished when vision, collaboration, and determination come together. Last year, we proudly accepted the Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award – Bronze Level. This year, we are honored to have achieved even greater heights by receiving the 2024 Vermont Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award – Silver Level from the Vermont Department of Health and the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports! This prestigious award recognizes Vermont employers who excel in boosting productivity, fostering a healthy environment, and enhancing employee wellbeing. DEW Construction Hosts Annual Company Safety Day
On Friday, October 4th, the DEW Construction team gathered at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lebanon, NH, for our Annual Safety Day. Every team member, spanning from office staff to field workers, gathered to demonstrate their strong support for our field personnel and to enhance their understanding of our safety practices. This event highlights our shared commitment to ensuring that everyone returns home to their families safely every day. It also offered a valuable chance to connect with colleagues from different regions. The morning session included updates from our leadership team and department heads, while the afternoon was dedicated to in-depth safety discussions and learning opportunities. Safety Day Highlights: Safety Day included a series of insightful presentations and demonstrations from our guest speakers: Brian Stevens, Vice President of Contractors Risk Management (CRM), provided an overview of their inspections and observations over the past year on our sites. He discussed what we are doing well and areas we could learn from in the future. In addition to regular site inspections, CRM also provides regular training to our employees throughout the year. Robert Dabrowski, Safety & Health Consultant from Project WorkSAFE, Vermont Department of Labor, discussed the importance of ergonomics by fitting job tasks to the worker, not the worker to the job tasks. DEW Construction Promotes Bill Carpenter to Assistant Superintendent
DEW Construction is thrilled to announce the promotion of Bill Carpenter from Foreman to Assistant Superintendent. Bill has been an integral part of the DEW team for over eleven years. His boundless energy and results-driven approach have consistently led to the successful completion of numerous projects. Bill’s positive attitude, determination, and openness to feedback have been crucial to his success. He is highly regarded for his eagerness to learn and clear communication, earning widespread respect within the team. His wonderful personality, great sense of humor, and unwavering commitment make him a pleasure to work with. As Assistant Superintendent, Bill will manage field operations with the team, including coordination of trades, safety (subcontractor orientation, training, compliance), schedule review, first pass cost and change control, and quality control. In his first assignment as Assistant Superintendent, Bill will oversee the transformation of the former fire safety lab garage at Vermont State University’s Randolph Campus into a state-of-the-art meat processing facility. We are confident that Bill will bring the same dedication and excellence to this project as he has to all his previous endeavors.
