Historic building renovation earns Leed Gold® certification.
This project involved interior renovation to restore much of the original fabric and limited exterior renovations to the historic Lola P. Aiken Hall. Located in the Hill Section of Burlington, VT, this building is representative of the Queen Anne style and was built between 1885-1886. The building is listed on the Vermont Register of Historic Sites.
Renovations included demolition, framing, doors, finishes, elevator and replacement of mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Renovations improved the energy efficiency and building envelope.
Exterior renovations included exterior painting, installation of a new slate and copper roofing system, window replacement, construction of an accessible ramp and reconstruction of the west porch and stairs.
Aiken Hall was awarded LEED® Gold certification and an Efficiency Vermont – 2010 Best of the Best in Commercial Building and Design, Honor Award.
