Williston, VT – DEW Construction Corp. is pleased to announce that it recently fulfilled the requirement of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Section 402, and has received certification to conduct lead-based paint renovation, repair, and painting activities pursuant to 40 CFR Part 745.89. DEW has eight trained Renovators per 40 CF Part 745.775. This certification is good in all EPA Administered States, Tribes and Territories.
The EPA issued a new rule aimed at protecting children from lead-based paint hazards in places they frequent. The rule applies to renovators and maintenance professionals that work in housing, child-care facilities and schools built prior to 1978. The rule “Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting Program” requires that contractors and maintenance professionals are certified; that their employees are trained; and that they follow protective work practice standards. The rule will be fully effective by April 2010.
