DEW & Employees Donate Turkeys to Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf
DEW employees rallied together to raise funds to buy turkeys for the Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf. They were able to raise $450 in three days from office employees. DEW’s Community Involvement Committee matched the gift amount dollar for dollar for a total donation of $900. After several media outlets aired stories this week about the food shelf needing 2700 turkeys this year, DEW employees gave generously to help their community. This morning, members of the committee took the funds and purchased 1,716 pounds of turkey and delivered them to the food shelf. “I was overcome by how thankful they were,” said Janelle Leduc, Office Manager for DEW. “They immediately wanted to shake our hands and get our photo for their Facebook page.” Rob Meehan, Director of the Food Shelf told DEW that he is overwhelmed by the support the food bank has received since putting out the call for help. “We have an amazing community.” DEW agrees. Thank you to all the office employees who came together for this great cause. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday.
