After nearly two decades of planning, the One Taylor Street Housing and Transit Center in Montpelier, VT celebrated its official opening at a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on October 25, 2019. Located in the downtown business district of Montpelier at the junction of the North Branch and Winooski Rivers, the new multi-use building resides on a one-acre site formerly referred to as the“Carr Lot.” The City of Montpelier in partnership with Housing Vermont contracted with DEW to construct a state-of-the-art Transit Center, housing units and to extend a shared use path. Green Mountain Transit, owned by the City of Montpelier, will operate out of the first level of the four-story building. The upper three levels are 8,500 sf per story and include 30 housing units, owned and operated by Housing Vermont.
