Major Expansion to Peerless Clothing International.
Peerless Clothing manufactures men’s and boys’ suits overseas in Montreal, Quebec, and its US distribution facility is in St. Albans, VT.
This is one of three expansions DEW has completed for Peerless Clothing, Inc. The project involved the construction of a new 90,275-square-foot, 62-foot-high, steel-framed building with a 21,570-square-foot mezzanine, a two-phased demolition of the existing “A” building, and a two-phased site package.
The two-phased demolition of Building A allowed the existing sorter to remain in operation while a new sorter was installed in the newly constructed Building A. The second phase of the site package followed the second demolition phase of the old Building A. The exterior of the building is primarily an insulated metal panel system with a split-face accent band backed up by metal stud framing. Punched windows provide natural light for the new offices and cafeteria.
Construction also included new and relocated site utilities, paving, concrete, four masonry stairway shafts, membrane roofing, doors, frames and hardware, overhead doors and dock equipment, metal stud and drywall framing, flooring, building accessories, racking, conveying, sprinklers, mechanical and electrical systems. There are minor renovations in “C” building to provide additional employee services.
