On Friday, July 15, 2022, over 50 DEW employees gathered at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lebanon, NH, for DEW’s Annual Safety Day. Presentations included a range of topics, including Electrical Safety Program, Fall Protection, Silica Table 1 and General OSHA Overview, Work Zones and Confined Spaces, and Most Cited and Heat Stress. We are committed to providing a safe work environment for every worker on our projects, which includes routine training. It takes teamwork to build, and it takes teamwork to stay safe and healthy. Special thanks to Randy Yandow of WorkSafe New England, Karl Bertelmann of DBI Sala, Harold Carlson of OSHA Regional, Karl Hayden of VOSHA, David May, and Rob Dabrowski of Project WorkSAFE, and the amazing Janelle Leduc of DEW Construction for organizing the delicious breakfast and lunch selections! DEW Welcomes Russell Hodgkins and Herbert Hancock
We are excited to announce that Russell (Russ) Hodgkins has joined our team as Project Manager. Russ will manage the business side of projects, including preparing budgets, creating schedules, responding to unique project demands, collaborating with engineers and architects, and communicating with our clients about progress. Russ has over 30 years of industry experience on a wide range of projects and an extensive background in sitework. For the last nine years, Russ has served in the public sector, managing multiple departments, developing and managing annual budgets, and leading and supporting the community he served. With over 30 years of commercial and residential construction experience, Herbert (Herb) Hancock joins our team as Senior Superintendent. Herb will bring his exceptional communication and leadership skills as he manages, coordinates, and oversees the work of the DEW field staff and subcontractors on projects. Herb will be responsible for all production aspects of the work in a timely and cost-effective manner and for maintaining a work environment that is safe and orderly. Herb started his career as a carpenter with the Civil Engineering Squadron in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the USAF, Herb began working on high-end residential construction projects, where he managed both preconstruction and construction. He eventually transitioned to supervising multiple projects within the commercial construction industry throughout New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Massachusetts.

Pending the March 2022 Bond Vote, DEW Awarded Amherst School District Project
The community of Amherst, NH will vote in March 2022 on a $75M bond proposal to build a new elementary school and renovate the Middle School. Pending a majority vote in favor of such, DEW has been awarded the project and construction is scheduled to start in the summer of 2023. Under the proposal, the construction of a new elementary school will provide several additional classrooms. The two-story school will serve Pre-K through Fifth Grade. Renovations to the existing middle school will include classroom reconfiguration, new electrical and HVAC, bathroom renovations, and building safety corrections.
