Founders Hall is a new three-story academic building with classrooms, a library, maker space, and a common area that supports the independent high school's integrated and project-based learning mission.
The design is intended to facilitate cross-disciplinary and collaborative learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. As a more effective use of space and collaboration, learning spaces are arranged in “neighborhoods” as opposed to traditional classrooms on halls. The educational neighborhoods consist of three to four classes, with movable walls and open spaces between rooms that can be used for instruction, presentations, collaboration, and studying.
The Rowland Project (the construction of Founders Hall) was made possible through a $20 million donation made to the school from the late Barry and Wendy Rowland. We are confident that this stunning addition to the campus will serve the Academy and the community for years to come.
