DEW Construction is thrilled to announce the promotion of Steve Hart to General Superintendent, Emily Bastian to Operations Coordinator, Trevor MacLachlan to Director of Estimating, Kimberly Lawton to Estimating Coordinator, and Cole Russel to Project Engineer!
With nearly forty years of industry experience, Steve Hart has been promoted from Senior Superintendent to General Superintendent. Hart, who joined DEW nearly eleven years ago, has excelled in various roles, such as estimator, superintendent, and project manager, consistently demonstrating exemplary leadership and dedication. He holds an Associate of Science degree in Building Construction Technology from the Wentworth Institute of Technology and is OSHA 30-hour certified. In his new role, Hart will oversee the superintendents based out of DEW’s offices in Portland, Maine, as well as those in Keene and Manchester, New Hampshire.
Emily Bastian has been promoted from Project Engineer to Operations Coordinator. Since joining DEW nearly three years ago, Emily has consistently demonstrated outstanding dedication, innovation, and leadership. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Business Management and Technology from Vermont Technical College. Additionally, she is certified in OSHA 30-hour training, NAVFAC Construction Quality Control, and CPR/First Aid. In her new role, Emily will oversee DEW’s preconstruction and construction scheduling, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and software utilization. Her responsibilities will include implementing standardized processes, organizing schedule data, monitoring performance, and supporting project teams in schedule setup and quality.
With over 30 years of Industry Experience, Trevor MacLachlan has been promoted from Estimator to Director of Estimating. Trevor, who joined DEW nearly six years ago, has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, proficiency, and leadership. Throughout his tenure, he has excelled in various roles, including estimator, superintendent, and project manager. In his new role, Trevor will assume oversight of the estimating department, leveraging his extensive knowledge to plan and coordinate projects with the team efficiently. He will also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior estimators, fostering innovation, creativity, benchmarking, and problem-solving initiatives.
Kimberly Lawton has been promoted from Project Engineer to Estimating Coordinator. Since joining DEW less than a year ago, Kim has consistently demonstrated an enthusiasm for learning, innovative thinking, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, a minor in Renewable Energy, and an MBA specializing in sustainability from the University of Maine, Kim will provide crucial administrative support to the Estimating Department while spearheading and executing special projects. Additionally, she will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and estimating select portions of projects under the guidance of the lead estimator.
Cole Russel has been promoted from Carpenter Apprentice to Project Engineer. Since joining DEW last fall, Cole has consistently demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for learning and an exceptional work ethic. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Johnson & Wales University, Cole will support DEW’s project managers and superintendents in planning and organizing resources for seamless project execution. He will play a crucial role in the construction process, ensuring project quality, adhering to schedules, controlling costs, maintaining safety standards, environmental protection, and customer satisfaction.
