South Hero, Vermont – Officials from DEW Construction Corp. (DEW) and Champlain Islands Parent-Child Center (CIPCC) held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, May 15, 2008 for a new 4,000 square foot single-story child care facility, located at South Street in South Hero.
Guests of Honor included Governor Jim Douglas and all the children, parents and staff who work at the existing facility. In lieu of using traditional ceremonial shovels, each attendee was given a plastic bucket and shovel to commemorate the event.
The project is slated to be complete in September 2008. Kristin Fortin is the DEW Project Manager and Dana MacArthur is the Superintendent.
