This week, DEW proudly joins the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) in celebrating Women in Construction Week (WIC) 2025. Since its inception in 1998, WIC Week has become a powerful platform to celebrate and promote the role of women in the construction industry. It highlights women’s contributions, raises awareness about the many opportunities available, and emphasizes the growing presence of women in the field.
With a workforce gap exceeding half a million workers, the demand for skilled professionals is higher than ever. Everyone—regardless of gender—has a crucial role to play in meeting this challenge. Over the past decade, the number of women in construction has surged by 45%, and today, women make up 14.5% of the workforce, with more women entering skilled trades roles every year. This growth is essential to combat our industry’s labor shortage and brings in additional diverse talent, helping us build a stronger, more innovative workforce.
Throughout this week and every week, we recognize the hardworking and talented women on our team who are helping to build the world around us. This year’s theme, ‘Together We Rise’, celebrates the strength and knowledge of women and the vital role they play in shaping the future of the construction industry.
Join us in celebrating the talent, dedication, and hard work of women across the industry who are building the future, not just this week but all year long. Happy National Women in Construction Week! Let’s continue to celebrate and build together!
