During this time, they have consistently demonstrated strong leadership qualities. Their deep understanding of the business, influence on strategic growth, and commitment to continuous improvement played a crucial role in this decision. Additionally, they have been instrumental in promoting a positive workplace culture. Their collaborative spirit and ability to foster strong relationships across departments have made them respected figures within the organization. DEW Construction Breaks Ground on Bellows Free Academy – Fairfax, Comprehensive Renovations and Additions Project
DEW Construction, in partnership with the Franklin West Supervisory Union and Black River Design Architects, recently broke ground on a significant renovation and expansion project at the Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax, Vermont. This project will modernize the school’s infrastructure with 139,663 square feet of renovations and 17,922 square feet of new additions. The main goals of this project are to improve the facility’s safety, accessibility, and overall functionality, creating a more conducive learning environment for students. The expansion will include new additions to the elementary and middle schools to accommodate the growing student population and provide modern, state-of-the-art learning spaces. Specifically, the elementary wing will gain five new classrooms: two for pre-k students and three for third and fourth graders. Four new classrooms will also be added for middle and high school students. A redesigned entrance will enhance access and security for students, staff, and visitors. Renovations throughout the school will update classrooms, offices, and common areas, including the science wing, band and chorus classrooms, and the cafeteria, enhancing functionality and aesthetics. A new fire safety sprinkler system will provide top-level fire protection. Upgrading lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems will improve energy efficiency and performance, creating a more comfortable and sustainable environment. DEW Construction Announces Several Employee Promotions
DEW Construction is thrilled to announce the promotion of Steve Hart to General Superintendent, Emily Bastian to Operations Coordinator, Trevor MacLachlan to Director of Estimating, Kimberly Lawton to Estimating Coordinator, and Cole Russel to Project Engineer! With nearly forty years of industry experience, Steve Hart has been promoted from Senior Superintendent to General Superintendent. Hart, who joined DEW nearly eleven years ago, has excelled in various roles, such as estimator, superintendent, and project manager, consistently demonstrating exemplary leadership and dedication. He holds an Associate of Science degree in Building Construction Technology from the Wentworth Institute of Technology and is OSHA 30-hour certified. In his new role, Hart will oversee the superintendents based out of DEW’s offices in Portland, Maine, as well as those in Keene and Manchester, New Hampshire. Emily Bastian has been promoted from Project Engineer to Operations Coordinator. Since joining DEW nearly three years ago, Emily has consistently demonstrated outstanding dedication, innovation, and leadership. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Business Management and Technology from Vermont Technical College. Additionally, she is certified in OSHA 30-hour training, NAVFAC Construction Quality Control, and CPR/First Aid. In her new role, Emily will oversee DEW’s preconstruction and construction scheduling, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and software utilization. DEW Construction is thrilled to announce the promotion of James Gleason to Warranty Specialist and Joshua Carrien to Foreman! Since joining DEW in 2019 as a carpenter, James has consistently exhibited impressive growth, unwavering determination, and an infectious positive attitude that uplifts those around him. His dedication to safety, quality, and efficiency has contributed significantly to every project he works on. His strong communication skills have also made him invaluable in interactions with our clients and trade partners. In his new role, James will manage specialty carpentry projects across the Southern Region, ensure ongoing and clear communication with our clients and trade partners, and play a crucial role in the final phases of project closeout and commissioning. Most recently, James has been overseeing our Seacoast Residences project’s closeout and warranty period in Kittery, Maine. Joshua began his career with DEW nearly a decade ago as a Finish Carpenter. Since day one, Joshua has demonstrated unwavering dedication, exceptional skills, and leadership, making him an invaluable asset to our team. His commitment to excellence and willingness to go above and beyond have consistently propelled our projects to success.
