DEW Construction Corporation has opened an Upper Valley office in Hanover. The new office for the Williston, VT based company is located at 23 South Main Street and provides office space for staff as well as for conferences and meetings. Don Wells, President of DEW stated, “The decision to expand our presence in the Upper Valley is market driven and will allow DEW to better serve our current and future customers here.” The new Hanover office for DEW Construction is in the heart of Hanover’s business district, and in the hub of the region. Don Wells, Executive VP Jeff Davis and VP Steve Morton will be instrumental in implementing services that DEW provides and managing the projected growth of the Hanover office. “DEW considers itself a partner with every owner and understands that as a key member of the team it is DEW’s responsibility to represent the owner’s best interest. Easy accessibility is key to that relationship,” Wells said. The Upper Valley is a market in which DEW has performed significant work over the last decade. DEW Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Williston, VT – DEW Construction Corp. held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and Open House for its newly constructed LEED Registered Corporate Headquarters on September 18, 2008. “We’re happy to introduce our state-of-the-art green facility to both the public and those who helped bring this project to fruition,” said Don Wells, President. “DEW is proud to be the first Williston office building that is environmentally responsible and a healthy place to work.” Governor Jim Douglas was on hand to assist in the ribbon cutting. “We are delighted Governor Douglas joined our celebration. Our dream of constructing this facility was made possible in part by Governor Douglas and his support of all Vermont businesses,” said Don Wells, President. Williston Town Manager, Rick Maguire, also spoke briefly at the ceremony, congratulating DEW and thanking them for keeping their business in Williston. DEW’s portion of the 28,500 square foot building, (15,900 square feet) provides offices for a staff of 40, three conference rooms with Smart Technology, an interactive television in the lobby, and a 1300 square foot fitness center with locker rooms. Also located in the lower level is a large function room to facilitate company events and meetings. DEW Honored at 5X5X5 Growth Awards
BURLINGTON, VT – DEW Construction Corp. was honored by Key Bank and Vermont Business Magazine as one of Vermont’s fastest growing companies for the 4th time, at an awards ceremony held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center. Governor James Douglas, John Boutin of VBM and Scott Carpenter of Key Bank presented the awards, which was accepted by DEW CFO, Michael Francis. The annual 5x5x5 Awards recognize the five fastest growing Vermont-based businesses over the last five years in five industrial sectors: construction, food, technology, service/retail, and manufacturing. The data is gathered from Vermont Business Magazine’s Vermont 100 list of companies ranked by sales, which runs in its January issue. VBM has run such a list since 1987. The awards ceremony, moderated by Scott Carpenter, President of Key Bank, featured a reception with all of the honorees, a presentation by 5 leading companies, and a guest speaker, Doug Hall, Founder and CEO of the Eureka! Ranch.
King Street Housing SHARP Certified
It was fitting, on June 9th this project became DEW’s 9th SHARP site. SHARP, Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program, is an OSHA sponsored program that recognizes businesses in high hazard undertakings that have exemplary safety programs. The honor is earned and in this case, the project team of Mike Rosenfield, Superintendent, Kristin Fortin, Project Manager and Talina Hibbard, Project Administrator have planned and are executing a SHARP deserving project in a very visible part of Burlington. The official SHARP banner and plaque were presented by Scott Meyer and Phil Jones of Project WorkSAFE. The certifying plaque was signed by Scott who manages the Project WorkSAFE program and by Patricia Moulton Powden, the Commissioner of Labor.
DEW Breaks Ground on Champlain Islands Parent-Child Center
South Hero, Vermont – Officials from DEW Construction Corp. (DEW) and Champlain Islands Parent-Child Center (CIPCC) held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, May 15, 2008 for a new 4,000 square foot single-story child care facility, located at South Street in South Hero. Guests of Honor included Governor Jim Douglas and all the children, parents and staff who work at the existing facility. In lieu of using traditional ceremonial shovels, each attendee was given a plastic bucket and shovel to commemorate the event. The project is slated to be complete in September 2008. Kristin Fortin is the DEW Project Manager and Dana MacArthur is the Superintendent.
