Historic renovations to three buildings on scattered sites in Brattleboro and Putney, VT.
The project included a total of 25 units of affordable housing; seven single room occupancies/efficiencies, six one-bedroom, seven two-bedroom, and four three-bedroom apartments.
Birge Street, constructed in 1880, was renovated into six apartments. Renovations included a new entrance in the rear of the building, a new dormer on the back of the building, new roofing, windows, siding and trim repairs, painting, interior finishes, cabinets, lighting, sitework, new water service and fire protection system, mechanical, and electrical work.
Horton Place, originally constructed in 1905 includes seven efficiency rooms, and one apartment. The renovations included partial new roofing, siding and trim repairs, painting, interior finishes, cabinets, lighting, minor sitework, new boiler, domestic hot water systems, and electrical work.
Plantz House, constructed in 1900, includes eleven Apartments. Renovations included a major gut rehabilitation with shoring and foundation replacement at the rear of the building, repairs to siding and trim, new interior layout & finishes, windows, doors, lighting, sitework, new oil, and pellet fired boiler systems and storage, modifications to the existing sprinkler and fire alarm systems, and a completely new electrical service and distribution.
