Superintendent Larry Bertrand reports that his project, UVM Redstone Lofts, recently celebrated the “Topping Out” of their project. In building construction, “topping out” is a ceremony held when the last beam is placed at the top of a building. The tradition migrated to America from European craftsmen and is usually marked by placing a tree on the topmost beam.
