New state-of-the-art public safety facility, featuring advanced communication systems, sustainable design, and a climate-controlled garage to support critical operations in Northern Vermont.
Located on 51 acres in Williston, Vermont, this new facility is the largest barracks in the state and serves as a hub for the Vermont State Police’s busiest operations. It also houses one of only two Emergency Communications Centers in Vermont.
The facility includes a 22,561-square-foot public safety building and an 11,022-square-foot climate-controlled garage. It features a 12-station 911 Call Center and houses the Northern Vermont Drug Task Force, the Recreational Enforcement Division, the Field Force Uniform Division, the Traffic Safety Unit, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Department of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement.
Support spaces feature a processing area, secure holding cells, interview rooms, evidence storage, conference rooms, and locker rooms. The climate-controlled garage accommodates special team vehicles and provides essential maintenance and utility spaces. A 110-foot monopole radio tower ensures uninterrupted communication.
Designed to meet green building standards, the facility boasts exceptional energy efficiency with robust insulation, a closed-loop geothermal system, LED lighting, and advanced HVAC controls. A comprehensive stormwater management system protects the nearby wetlands.
