Determining the best solution to meet the community's needs is complex and involves all stakeholders. Taking the time to understand the voters' vision allows DEW to be an active leader and manage the project to the desired budget. Educating the public on the merits of the bond is critical, but our collective drive to find the right solution ultimately leads to success and shared trust in the process.
DEW has chosen a team that understands the importance of building a school that will transform the learning environment for every student. Our team will leverage their experience, expertise, and skills to provide thoughtful and practical solutions to the Amherst School District project.
Matthew Wheaton, Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President, Matt is responsible for Preconstruction Services and ensures each project is successful. He works with estimators, project managers, and superintendents to develop accurate pricing and logistics and identify unique challenges to allow owners to make informed decisions early in the process. Matt was trained as an architect, and since 2000, he has been planning and constructing K-12 projects.
Kristin Wells, Project Manager
With over 30 years of industry experience, Kristin will be the primary customer interface on the Amherst School District project. Kristin and Dan recently completed a 130,000 SF facility in SE New Hampshire together.
Dan Riley, General Superintendent
Dan Riley is a seasoned Superintendent with over 37 years of industry experience. Dan will oversee all phases of this project from the initial planning to completion. He will manage the field operations team, coordination of trades, subcontractor safety orientation, schedule, and quality control. He looks forward to engaging the student body so they can learn what we’re doing for them.
Jim Gardener, Senior Estimator
With 37 years of construction and engineering experience, Jim is a valuable and highly skilled member of our team. He is proficient in all areas of construction management, preconstruction, cost estimating, and cost management. His primary responsibility is providing accurate cost estimates and he will lead the estimating team to make sure timely and accurate estimates are produced and the project is thoroughly understood.

In addition, Conor is responsible for 3D BIM coordination and on-site MEPF installation, startup, and commissioning support. With 30-40% of direct project costs coming from these trades, Conor’s role is critical to our success.
