New construction of a 15,000 sf LEED® Gold Certified public library.
The main structure is of structural steel, metal decking, and glue-laminated structural members, and is a demonstration of sustainable building strategies. Key features include:

- Automated Daylighting Controls
- Occupancy Sensor Lighting in Bookstacks
The sensors respond to daylight and adjust the lighting and shades used in the building. The solar gain in the winter months helps to heat the building. A geothermal system and a wood pellet boiler work with the sensors to optimize energy used for heating and cooling. As the CM we created and managed the indoor air quality plan, the pollution prevention plan, and the construction waste diversion plans.
No fossil fuels are used for heating or cooling, and daylighting is maximized throughout. Ground source heat pumps with twelve wells are used for general heating and cooling with biomass boiler for additional winter heat.
The library serves as a community hub by providing three meeting rooms that are available to the public, including one that seats up to 100 people. In addition to the meeting rooms, the library offers a gallery space showcasing the works of local artists, a kitchen, an AV system, and a beautiful courtyard. The library is also the site of over twenty community garden beds.
