As Vice President of Operations, Dan Riley ensures every aspect of our projects are delivered successfully. He leads and manages our project management teams, ensuring they provide top-notch services to our customers at every stage of the construction process. Dan oversees all project management activities, from preconstruction to completion, while also providing outstanding leadership to our operations teams.
Dan prioritizes team building in his approach. He understands that each project and team is unique, emphasizing the importance of fostering cohesion among individuals who may lack prior collaboration to achieve unity and high performance. Leading by example, Dan demonstrates empathy and a genuine appreciation for his team and industry members, considering these qualities essential for success. He believes that cultivating strong teams and consistently delivering excellent projects are fundamental to thriving in the construction industry.
Experience
Dan brings over four decades of experience to the construction industry, a journey that began with a pivotal school field trip and the guidance of his industrial arts teachers in high school.
Dan’s construction career started at a heavy equipment firm before honing his skills as a carpenter in both New York City and eastern Long Island. His expertise grew through work on high-end residential and commercial projects, culminating in the establishment of his own construction company in East Hampton, NY, specializing in custom homes, restorations, speculation buildings, and small commercial projects.
His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to take on roles as a Project Manager and Superintendent for other construction firms. Eventually, Dan’s knack for problem-solving and leadership caught the attention of a firm in New England, where he transitioned into project management for a community management company. There, he excelled in selling, planning, and executing capital projects, eventually rising to the positions of Portfolio Manager and Vice President.
His expertise encompasses various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, retail, assisted living, multi-family housing, education, municipal buildings, secure complexes, and office buildings. Notably, Dan’s versatility extends to navigating the unique challenges of working in occupied buildings, where precision and sensitivity are paramount.
Life Outside DEW
Dan is a father and husband, who values the unwavering support of his wife Jeannine. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cooking, and spending quality time with his family. Dan is also a dedicated dog dad with a strong commitment to rescuing animals in need.
